Malaysia Women’s U19 secured a hard-fought 15-run victory over Indonesia Women’s U19 in their Indonesia U19 Women’s Team Tour to Malaysia 2026 encounter, with disciplined bowling and steady batting proving decisive in a closely contested match.

Malaysia began their innings with a composed approach, as Nur Aliya M. and Nazatul Hidayah Husna put together a 31-run opening stand. Nur Aliya made 13 off 26 balls before falling to Intan Berlian, while Nazatul contributed 19 off 22 balls at a strike rate of 86.36.

The innings gained momentum when Irdina Beh joined Nazatul, adding 21 runs for the next wicket before Nazatul was dismissed by Ni Putu Cantika. Irdina continued to anchor the innings with 20 off 24 balls, building small but important partnerships through the middle overs.

    Malaysia Post Competitive Total

Contributions from the middle and lower order helped Malaysia reach 100/8 in their 20 overs. Nurin Imanina Mohd Ikrimah scored 2, while Nur Qalysha Noreffendi added 8 before being run out. Nur Qaireen Syakira chipped in with 10 off 11 balls, and Siti Hamra Mohd Sakri remained unbeaten on 6. Nur Aila Natijah also added 5 runs.

Extras played a key role, with 17 additional runs boosting Malaysia’s total. Despite regular wickets, the side managed to post a competitive score.

Indonesia’s bowling was led by Ni Putu Cantika, who returned figures of 2 for 22 from her four overs. Intan Berlian and Anace Elna Elizabeth claimed a wicket each, while Ni Kadek Dwi Aprilia Putri bowled an economical spell of 4-0-18-0. Ni Komang Sukmayanti and Hiva Nuraisla Siumi Lukman also picked up wickets to keep Malaysia in check.

    Indonesia Struggle in Chase

Chasing 101, Indonesia Women’s U19 lost early wickets, with Anace Elna Elizabeth dismissed for a duck and Ni Putu Ely Novita scoring 6. Marissa Rahma Ghina managed just 1, as the top order failed to build partnerships.

A brief recovery came through Ni Kadek Dwi Aprilia Putri (11 off 20) and Hiva Nuraisla Siumi Lukman (6), but the scoring rate remained slow. Ni Komang Sukmayanti top-scored with 13 off 24 balls, while Ni Putu Cantika added 8 in a short partnership.

Further contributions were limited, with Meutia Diaz Sanjaya scoring 5 and Ni Kadek Ayu Risnia remaining unbeaten on 4. Lower-order batters added minimal runs as Indonesia were bowled out for 85 in 18 overs.

Suabika Manivannan Stars with the Ball

Malaysia’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the chase, with Suabika Manivannan delivering the standout performance. She returned figures of 4-1-14-2, controlling the middle overs and breaking key partnerships.

Aina Umira Amin also impressed, conceding just 5 runs in her 3 overs while taking a wicket. Nurin Imanina Mohd Ikrimah and Siti Hamra Mohd Sakri contributed with important breakthroughs, while Nur Qalysha Noreffendi and Nurimizra Syaminie Johari kept the scoring in check.

Malaysia’s ability to build partnerships and apply consistent pressure with the ball proved decisive, securing a well-earned 15-run win.
