South Delhi Superstarz Women opened their WDPL 2026 campaign with a 29-run victory over Central Delhi Queens after producing a strong all-round performance.

South Delhi posted 156/5 from 20 overs, led by Tanisha Singh’s attacking 64 and Nishika Singh’s half-century, before their bowlers restricted Central Delhi to 127/7.

Tanisha and Nishika Build Strong Total

South Delhi made a steady start, with Nishika Singh anchoring the innings with 50 from 41 balls, including eight fours.

Priya Punia added 16 before Tanisha Singh provided the major acceleration. She smashed 64 from 42 deliveries, striking 10 fours at a strike rate of 152.38.

Shweta Sehrawat then contributed an unbeaten 19 from 13 balls to help South Delhi reach a competitive 156/5.

    Central Delhi Lose Early Wickets

The Queens struggled at the start of their chase.

Roopali Mohan removed Deeksha Sharma and Saachi, while Disha Nagar dismissed Arushi Goel to leave Central Delhi under pressure at 31/3.

Nidhi Mahto then led the recovery with a determined innings.

    Nidhi Mahto Leads the Fightback

Nidhi scored 63 from 55 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes.

She shared a crucial 65-run partnership with Monika, who contributed a quick 30 from 19 deliveries.

The stand briefly brought Central Delhi back into contention, but South Delhi continued to take wickets at important moments.

Once Monika and Nidhi were dismissed, the required rate became too difficult to manage.

Mayuri Singh Shines With the Ball

Mayuri Singh was the standout bowler, finishing with excellent figures of 2/15 from four overs.

Roopali Mohan and Disha Nagar also claimed two wickets each, ensuring Central Delhi never gained enough momentum in the chase.

The Queens eventually finished on 127/7, falling 29 runs short.

The victory gave South Delhi Superstarz Women a perfect start to their WDPL 2026 campaign, with Tanisha’s 64 providing the batting spark and Mayuri’s economical spell sealing a complete team performance.
