Joanne Hicks starred with the ball as Isle of Man Women secured a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Greece Women in Group B of the Women’s Continental Cup 2026. After bowling Greece out for 52 in 15 overs, Isle of Man comfortably chased down the revised target of 53, reaching 56/1 in just six overs with 84 balls to spare.
Hicks Leads Dominant Bowling Display
Greece endured a difficult start after Lucy Barnett dismissed Adamantia Makri and Aggeliki Savvani inside the opening three overs, reducing them to 7/2.
Joanne Hicks then took control, claiming a superb 5/10 from her four overs. She removed Maria Polimeri (6), Lydia Katsimari (4), Sofia-nefeli Georgota (1), top-scorer Aggeliki-Ioanna Argyropoulou (17) and Theodora Parisi-mesimeri (3) as Greece struggled to build partnerships.
Georgina Ford supported well with 2/9, while Barnett finished with 1/8 and Amelia Griffiths added one wicket.
Greece were eventually dismissed for 52, with extras contributing 13 runs.
Moore and Cottier Finish the Job
Isle of Man lost Lucy Barnett for 4 in the opening over, but that proved to be their only setback.
Libby Moore and Grace Cottier combined for an unbeaten 51-run partnership to complete the chase in emphatic fashion.
Moore led the way with 24 not out from 20 balls, hitting three boundaries, while Cottier remained unbeaten on 19 from 15 deliveries, also striking three fours.
Their aggressive partnership ensured Isle of Man reached 56/1 in six overs, sealing victory with 84 deliveries remaining.
Comfortable Win for Isle of Man
Greece’s bowlers were unable to defend the modest target, with Adamantia Makri taking the only wicket of the innings.
Powered by Hicks’ outstanding five-wicket haul and a fluent unbeaten stand between Moore and Cottier, Isle of Man Women completed one of their most convincing performances of the tournament to strengthen their position in Group B.
