Pakistan captain Fatima Sana reached a major career milestone during the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 semi-final against Sri Lanka, crossing 150 international wickets with a superb four-wicket haul in Dubai.
The 24-year-old also starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 47 from 36 balls, but her all-round effort was not enough as Sri Lanka chased down 131 with four wickets in hand and eight balls remaining.
Sana Reaches 150-Wicket Landmark
Fatima entered the semi-final just one wicket short of 150 international scalps.
Defending 131, she reached the landmark by dismissing Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu for 5. Sana then removed Sanjana Kavindi for a first-ball duck before later dismissing Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari.
She finished with excellent figures of 4/38 from 3.4 overs.
Unbeaten 47 Rescues Pakistan
Earlier, Pakistan had been under pressure with the bat before Sana led the recovery from No. 6.
She struck an unbeaten 47 from 36 deliveries, helping Pakistan reach 130/5 from their 20 overs.
Her contribution gave Pakistan a competitive total and was followed by another major impact with the ball.
Strong Asia Cup Campaign
Sana finished Pakistan’s campaign as their leading wicket-taker.
She collected nine wickets in four innings at an average of 9.33 and an economy rate of 6.14, including the four-wicket haul in the semi-final.
Her performance against Sri Lanka earned her the Player of the Match award despite Pakistan’s defeat.
Fatima Sana’s International Bowling Record
Sana made her ODI debut against South Africa in 2019 and has since taken 85 wickets in 64 ODIs, at an average of 28.30.
In T20 internationals, she has claimed 68 wickets in 67 matches at an average of 22.75.
Her best T20I figures remain 4/26 against Ireland in 2025.
With more than 150 wickets across formats and growing influence as both captain and all-rounder, Sana continues to establish herself as one of the most important players in Pakistan women’s cricket.
