Annabel Sutherland latest news saw the Australian all-rounder produce another match-winning performance as Sunrisers Leeds Women defeated London Spirit Women by five wickets in Match 20 of The Hundred Women’s 2026. Chasing a target of 137 at Headingley, the defending champions reached 137 for 5 in 98 balls, with Sutherland sealing the victory by smashing a six with just two balls remaining.

The win kept Sunrisers Leeds alive in the race for the Eliminator, while London Spirit’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage suffered another major setback.

Grace Harris Gives London Spirit a Flying Start

London Spirit Women made an excellent start after being sent in to bat. Grace Harris dominated the powerplay and raced to a half-century in only 25 balls, putting pressure on the Sunrisers bowling attack from the very beginning.

Her aggressive stroke play helped London Spirit reach 89 for 1 at the halfway stage, putting the team in a strong position for a big total.

However, the momentum shifted dramatically after a lengthy rain interruption. Soon after play resumed, Harris was caught on the boundary for 51, and the innings began to lose direction.

The Sunrisers Leeds Women highlight of the innings came through their spin attack. Hannah Baker and Deepti Sharma bowled with excellent control, taking advantage of the damp conditions to trigger a collapse. London Spirit lost six wickets for just 47 runs in the second half of the innings and finished on 136 for 7 from their 100 balls.

    Sutherland Leads the Chase

Annabel Sutherland’s The Hundred campaign continued to impress as the Australian all-rounder once again delivered under pressure.

Phoebe Litchfield gave Sunrisers Leeds the perfect start by attacking from the first ball. Promoted to open the innings, she scored a quick 30 from just 17 deliveries and ensured the required run rate stayed under control.

Despite the fast start, the chase became difficult when Sunrisers lost three wickets for only two runs during the middle phase. London Spirit suddenly found themselves back in the contest with regular breakthroughs.

That was when Sutherland stepped up. Showing great composure, she built an important 54-run partnership with captain Dani Gibson to steady the innings. She paced her knock perfectly, rotating the strike before attacking in the closing stages.

With the match going down to the final few deliveries, Sutherland finished the contest in style. She remained unbeaten on 37 from only 21 balls and struck a six with the 98th ball to complete a thrilling five0wicket victory.

Jess Jonassen also played a valuable supporting role with an unbeaten 13 from just five balls.

    Massive Boost for Playoff Hopes

Annabel Sutherland latest news is being named Meerkat Match Hero for her standout performance that is a huge positive for Sunrisers Leeds as they continue their push for the knockout stage. This victory was only their second of the season but lifted them to fourth place in the standings, keeping their Eliminator hopes alive with crucial matches still to come.

For London Spirit, the defeat was another frustrating result. Despite Grace Harris’ explosive start, the batting collapse after the rain break proved costly. With only one win in five matches, their chances of reaching the playoffs are now virtually over.

The Sunrisers Leeds Women highlight of the tournament so far will undoubtedly be this spirited comeback. Thanks to Annabel Sutherland’s The Hundred performance, the defending champions remain firmly in the race for a place in the Eliminator and have renewed belief heading into the final stage of the competition.
