Brazil Women produced a dominant all-round display to secure a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Mozambique Women in the 8th match of the Kalahari Women’s T20I Tournament 2026. The chase was completed with ease, underlining Brazil’s growing strength in associate women’s cricket, although Mozambique did show brief moments of resistance during the contest.
Asked to bat first, Mozambique Women struggled to build momentum from the outset. Palmira Cuinica fell early at 7/1 in 2.4 overs, with Amelia Mundundo following at 12/2 in 3.5 overs. Olga Mondlane was also dismissed cheaply, leaving the side in trouble at 12/3 in 4.4 overs. Brazil’s bowlers maintained tight control, with Lara Moisés, Marianne Artur, and Lindsay Boas striking early to keep the pressure firmly in place.
Amid the early collapse, Wisley Bucane stood out with a determined effort. Coming in during a difficult phase, she attempted to stabilise the innings through small partnerships. She shared a brief stand with Cristina Magaia before Magaia departed at 33/4 in 7.6 overs. Bucane continued to fight on, receiving limited support from Isabel Chuma and Rosalia Haihong, but wickets kept falling as Mozambique slipped to 53/7 in 12.1 overs.
Bucane top-scored with 32 off 27 balls, hitting four boundaries in her knock. However, her dismissal at 74/8 in 16.2 overs halted any hopes of a late surge. Regina Mazumba remained unbeaten on 10 off 16 balls, and with the help of extras, Mozambique were bowled out for 80 in 17.2 overs. Brazil’s bowling effort was well-rounded, with Carolina Nascimento, Roberta Avery, and Lara Moisés taking two wickets each, while Lindsay Boas, Marianne Artur, and Nicole Monteiro claimed one apiece.
In response, Brazil Women approached the chase with confidence. Openers Lindsay Boas and Laura Agatha provided a strong start, combining steady strike rotation with aggressive shot-making. Their partnership quickly shifted control of the game, as Brazil moved through the powerplay without difficulty.
Laura Agatha led the charge with an attacking 43 off 24 balls, including six boundaries and one six, before being dismissed at 76/1 in 6.3 overs. Her innings ensured the required rate remained well within reach. Lindsay Boas played the anchor role, finishing unbeaten on 24 off 18 balls and guiding the chase with composure.
Following Agatha’s dismissal, Roberta Avery joined Boas, and the pair completed the chase comfortably in 7.3 overs, taking Brazil to 81/1 with 75 balls remaining. The unbeaten stand ensured there were no further setbacks, sealing a convincing win.
Mozambique’s bowlers were unable to contain the scoring, with Angelica Salomao conceding 33 runs in her 3 overs, while Palmira Cuinica also proved expensive. Regina Mazumba claimed the only wicket, but a lack of breakthroughs hindered their chances.
Lindsay Boas was named Player of the Match for her all-round contribution of 24* and 1 wicket, as Brazil Women continued to build momentum in the tournament with a strong team performance.
