Centuries from Radha Yadav and Tanisha Singh proved decisive as West Zone and North Zone advanced to the final of the Senior Women’s Inter-zonal Multi-day Trophy in Puducherry.

Semi-Final 1: West Zone vs East Zone

West Zone, led by Radha Yadav, chose to bat first after winning the toss but suffered early setbacks, losing both openers within the first six overs.

A 70-run stand for the third wicket between Tejal Hasabnis and Tejaswini Batwal (35 off 72) steadied the innings, followed by a 120-run partnership between Hasabnis and Umeshwari Jethva (51 off 121) for the fourth wicket to take the total beyond 200.

The defining contribution came through a 104-run stand for the seventh wicket between Radha Yadav and A Patil (36 off 67). Radha led from the front with 108 off 132 balls, striking 17 boundaries, as West Zone declared at 421 for 8 in 126 overs.

For East Zone, Devyani (21-5-68-2), Sushree Dibyadharshini (20-1-88-2) and Jintimani Kalita (19-5-49-2) picked up two wickets each.

In reply, East Zone were bowled out for 206 in the 103rd over, conceding a 215-run first-innings lead. Mita Paul (57* off 193), Sushree Dibyadarshini (38 off 123) and T Sarkar (23 off 59) were the main contributors.

West Zone’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Krutikaben (21-7-39-4), Radha Yadav (26.3-9-45-3), Saima Thakor (19-7-33-2) and A Patil (15-6-27-1) delivering key breakthroughs.

Holding a commanding lead, West Zone reached 50 for 1 in 30 overs in their second innings before the end of play, sealing their place in the final on the basis of the first-innings advantage. Radha Yadav was named Player of the Match.

Semi-Final 2: North Zone vs South Zone

North Zone, captained by Shweta Sehrawat, also opted to bat first but were reduced to 4 for 2 inside six overs by a strong new-ball spell.

A series of partnerships rebuilt the innings, with Tanisha Singh anchoring the effort. She added 41 runs with Ayushi Soni for the third wicket, followed by stands of 43 with Sushma Verma, 31 with Sehrawat, and 56 with Preeti Bose.

Tanisha Singh’s 126 off 246 balls, featuring 16 boundaries, was the cornerstone of North Zone’s 236 in 91.4 overs. Preeti Bose (27), Suman Gulia (20) and Soni Yadav (18) provided support.

For South Zone, Shabnam (14-6-40-3), Abirame R (24.4-6-63-2) and captain Niki Prasad (22-4-58-4) were among the wickets.

South Zone responded with 213 in 124.2 overs, falling 23 runs short. Contributions came from Henrietta Pereira (48), Mamatha (33), Yuvashri (25) and Poorva Bhaidkar (60), while Purvaja Verlekar made 29 at the top.

Preeti Bose starred with the ball for North Zone, returning figures of 46.2-21-49-7, supported by Sushmita H Kumari (35-16-67-2) and Mannat Kashyap (20-9-36-1).

In their second innings, North Zone reached 185 for 8 in 82 overs, with Shweta Sehrawat (32), Ayushi Soni (39), Sushma Verma (21) and Suman Gulia (17*) contributing. The match ended in a draw, with North Zone progressing on the strength of their first-innings lead.

Shabnam (9-4-13-2) and Abirame R (17-4-47-2) took two wickets each in the final innings, while Niki Prasad (22-10-30-1) delivered another disciplined spell.

Tanisha Singh was named Player of the Match for her first-innings century.

    Final Set

West Zone will face North Zone in the final, scheduled from April 1 to 4, 2026 at CAP Ground 2, Puducherry.
