The fifth and final T20I between South Africa women’s national cricket team and India women’s national cricket team is set to be played at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on April 27, bringing an end to a tour largely dominated by the hosts.

South Africa established control early in the series, delivering clinical performances in Durban to put India under immediate pressure. While India showed improvement in Johannesburg, including a competitive 192 in the third T20I powered by half-centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma, they were outplayed by Laura Wolvaardt, whose century sealed the series 3-0.

India, however, avoided a whitewash with a strong comeback in the fourth T20I, where Deepti Sharma’s maiden five-wicket haul helped them defend 185 and secure a 14-run victory.

    Nonkululeko Mlaba

Nonkululeko Mlaba has been one of the most consistent performers in the series. She has taken four wickets at an economy of 6.50, conceding just 78 runs across 12 overs, with best figures of 2/31.

    Annerie Dercksen

Annerie Dercksen has impressed in the middle order, remaining unbeaten in both her outings and scoring 56 runs at a strike rate of 136.58, including a key 44*.

    Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana has had a relatively quiet series, scoring 62 runs in three matches. Despite starts in each game, her highest score of 37 reflects missed opportunities to convert into bigger innings.

    Shreyanka Patil

Shreyanka Patil has been India’s leading wicket-taker with five scalps in three matches. Her strike rate of 13.20 highlights her ability to pick up wickets at crucial moments, with best figures of 2/26.

    Pitch Report

The surface at Willowmoore Park is traditionally on the slower side, often assisting spin bowlers as the game progresses. Batters who apply themselves can still score, with the average T20I total around 150, though pace bowlers are unlikely to get much lateral movement.

    Weather Conditions

Clear skies are expected, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 22°C. The chance of rain is minimal at 10 percent, with light winds from the west.
