India wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia has written her name into cricket history by becoming the first woman to score a Test century at Lord’s. The remarkable achievement came during the historic one-off women’s Test between India and England in July 2026, making her the latest player to earn a place on the famous Lord’s Honours Board.

Her brilliant innings was even more inspiring considering she returned to international cricket after undergoing major ACL knee surgery just a year earlier.

Yastika Bhatia Lord’s Century Makes History

On July 12, 2026, Yastika Bhatia produced the innings of her career during the second innings of the historic Test at Lord’s.

After scoring just 12 runs in the first innings, the 25 year old responded with a magnificent 113 off 145 balls, hitting 12 boundaries in a composed and confident knock.

She showed no signs of pressure in the nervous nineties. Batting with great control, Yastika struck two consecutive boundaries off Issy Wong to move to 99 before taking a quick single shortly after lunch to complete her maiden international century.

The innings made her the owner of the first women’s Test century at Lord’s, a record that will remain part of cricket history forever.

Her century helped India declare on 341 for 7, setting England a challenging target of 457 runs.

    A Remarkable Comeback

The achievement was made even more special by the challenges Yastika had overcome before reaching this milestone.

Just one year earlier, she had undergone major ACL knee surgery, forcing her to spend months away from competitive cricket while rebuilding her strength and fitness.

Before arriving at Lord’s, she had never scored an international century in any format. To achieve her maiden hundred on one of cricket’s biggest stages highlighted both her determination and ability under pressure.

The knock also earned her a place on the prestigious Lord’s Honours Board alongside famous Indian men’s cricketers such as Vinoo Mankad, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid.

Who was the first woman to score a century in Test cricket?

Although Yastika became the first woman to score a Test hundred at Lord’s, the first woman to score a century in Test cricket was Myrtle Maclagan of England.

Maclagan scored 119 runs against Australia during the inaugural women’s Test series in January 1935, becoming the first official centurion in the history of women’s Test cricket.

Who was the first woman to score a century in T20?

The answer is Deandra Dottin of the West Indies.

Dottin smashed an incredible 112 not out from just 45 balls against South Africa during the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 on May 5, 2010.

Her century came from only 38 deliveries, which remains the fastest century in Women’s T20 International history.

A Landmark Moment for Women’s Cricket

Yastika Bhatia’s century will be remembered as one of the defining moments in women’s cricket. The historic knock combined personal resilience with sporting excellence, creating a milestone that future generations will aim to match.

Yastika Bhatia Lord’s century not only secured her place in cricket history but also added another memorable chapter to the growth of the women’s game. As the player to register the first women’s Test century at Lord’s, she has ensured that her name will forever be associated with one of cricket’s most iconic venues.
