The Women’s Hundred 2026 has entered its decisive phase, with all eight franchises still fighting for position as the race for the three knockout places intensifies.

The team that finishes top of the league table will qualify directly for the final at Lord’s on August 16, while the teams finishing second and third will meet in the Eliminator.

With only a handful of league matches remaining, every result matters. Net run rate could also become decisive if teams finish level on points.

Here is a breakdown of what each side needs from the closing stages of the tournament.

Trent Rockets: One Win Away From Qualification

Trent Rockets are in the strongest position after collecting 20 points from six matches.

Ashleigh Gardner’s side have won five games and lost only once, with their sole defeat coming against London Spirit by five wickets at Trent Bridge on July 26.

Their impressive net run rate of +1.605 also gives them a significant advantage over the chasing teams.

Trent Rockets have two league matches remaining, against MI London and Southern Brave.

A victory in either fixture would mathematically confirm their place in the knockout stage.

Given their superior NRR, the Rockets are also currently the strongest candidates to finish first and earn direct qualification for the final.

    Southern Brave: Qualification Almost Secured

Southern Brave also have 20 points after winning five of their opening six matches.

Under captain Sophie Molineux, Brave began the tournament with five consecutive victories before Welsh Fire ended their unbeaten run with a four-wicket win in Cardiff on August 3.

Their net run rate stands at +0.399.

Southern Brave have matches remaining against Manchester Super Giants and Trent Rockets.

One victory from those two fixtures would confirm their place in the knockout stage.

They remain firmly in contention for a top-two finish, while their final meeting with Trent Rockets could potentially determine which team qualifies directly for the Lord’s final.

Manchester Super Giants: Destiny Still in Their Hands

Manchester Super Giants occupy third place with 14 points from six matches.

Meg Lanning’s team have recorded three victories and two defeats, while their match against Birmingham Phoenix on July 26 ended as a no-result.

Their net run rate of +0.613 is currently healthy and could become important during the qualification battle.

Manchester have two matches remaining, against Southern Brave and Sunrisers Leeds.

Winning both would guarantee their place in the top three.

If they lose one of those games, qualification would depend on other results. They would need at least one defeat each for Welsh Fire, Sunrisers Leeds, London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix to prevent those sides from overtaking them.

    Welsh Fire: Two Wins Essential

Welsh Fire remain firmly in contention but have little room for error.

With Georgia Wareham temporarily leading the team following Sophie Devine’s calf injury, Fire sit fourth with 12 points from six matches.

They have three wins and three defeats, along with a net run rate of +0.345.

Their final two games are against Sunrisers Leeds and London Spirit.

Welsh Fire realistically need to win both matches while also hoping Manchester Super Giants lose at least once.

A defeat in either fixture would make qualification extremely difficult.

Sunrisers Leeds: Outside Chance Still Alive

Sunrisers Leeds sit fifth with eight points from five matches.

Danielle Gibson’s side have won two games and lost three, but they still have three fixtures remaining, giving them an outside opportunity to climb into the top three.

    Their current NRR is +0.319.

Sunrisers must defeat Birmingham Phoenix, Welsh Fire and Manchester Super Giants to reach 20 points.

Even then, they would require results elsewhere to go their way because several teams above them already hold significant advantages.

Their path is difficult, but having three games remaining means qualification is still mathematically possible.

London Spirit: Need Wins and Major NRR Improvement

London Spirit are sixth with six points from five matches.

They have one victory, three defeats and a tie against MI London, while their net run rate of -0.759 leaves them at a significant disadvantage.

Their remaining fixtures are against MI London, Birmingham Phoenix and Welsh Fire.

To remain in serious contention, Spirit need to win all three matches, preferably by substantial margins.

They would also require Manchester Super Giants, Sunrisers Leeds and Welsh Fire to drop points.

Their negative NRR means simply reaching the same points total as another contender may not be enough.

Birmingham Phoenix: Difficult Route to the Top Three

Birmingham Phoenix also have six points from five matches, following one victory, three defeats and one no-result.

Their biggest problem is a net run rate of -1.954, the weakest among the teams still holding a realistic mathematical chance.

Phoenix have three matches remaining against Sunrisers Leeds, London Spirit and MI London.

They need to win all three and do so by significant margins to repair their NRR.

Even a perfect finish may not be enough without favourable results involving Manchester Super Giants, Welsh Fire and Sunrisers Leeds.

Their route to the knockouts remains possible but extremely narrow.

MI London: Almost Out of the Race

MI London are bottom of the table with only two points from five matches.

They have lost four times and collected their only points from a tie against London Spirit.

Their net run rate stands at -1.540.

MI London still have matches against London Spirit, Trent Rockets and Birmingham Phoenix, but their qualification hopes are hanging by a thread.

Even three victories may not be enough.

A Manchester Super Giants win would mathematically eliminate MI London from the knockout race regardless of what happens in their remaining fixtures.

    Women’s Hundred 2026 Qualification Picture

Trent Rockets and Southern Brave are clearly in control of their own destiny and require only one more victory each to mathematically confirm qualification.

Manchester Super Giants remain favourites for the third position but face pressure from Welsh Fire, while Sunrisers Leeds still have an outside opportunity because of their extra game in hand.

London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix need near-perfect finishes combined with several favourable results, while MI London’s hopes are almost over.

With direct qualification to the final also at stake, the battle at the top between Trent Rockets and Southern Brave could be just as dramatic as the fight for the final Eliminator berth.
