The 10th edition of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 is set to bring together eight teams in Dubai, with the tournament offering another opportunity for the leading sides in Asian cricket to compete for continental glory.
India enter the competition as the seven-time champions and the biggest favorites, while Sri Lanka arrive as the defending champions after winning their maiden title in 2024. Pakistan and Bangladesh are also expected to challenge for the knockout places.
Here are our Women’s Asia Cup 2026 team rankings based on squad strength, recent form, experience, conditions and tournament record.
1. India Women
India are the clear No. 1 in our Women’s Asia Cup power rankings. Their biggest strength is the depth of their squad, with Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur providing enormous batting experience.
Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav add quality with the ball and give India greater balance. With seven titles already in their cabinet, India have the strongest tournament record among the eight teams.
Their main concern could be batting against quality spin if early wickets fall.
2. Sri Lanka Women
The defending champions take second place. Led by the explosive Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka have the experience and confidence needed to challenge India.
Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari provide support with bat and ball, while their familiarity with Asian conditions is another major advantage.
However, Sri Lanka could struggle if Athapaththu fails to make a major impact with the bat.
3. Pakistan Women
Pakistan are third among the strongest teams in Women’s Asia Cup. Their biggest weapon is their spin attack, with Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sundhu and Tuba Hassan capable of controlling the middle overs.
Captain Fatima Sana has also added greater aggression to the team’s bowling and lower order batting.
The main question is whether their top order can consistently score quickly against stronger pace attacks.
4. Bangladesh Women
Bangladesh occupy fourth place and should be serious contenders for a semi final spot. Their disciplined bowling attack includes Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan and Marufa Akter.
Captain Nigar Sultana Joty remains the key batter and provides stability to the lineup.
Their biggest weakness is their powerplay batting. They could struggle when required to chase high totals against the tournament favorites.
5. Thailand Women
Thailand are the leading dark horse and rank fifth. They are one of the most experienced Associate teams in women’s T20 cricket and have previously troubled Full Member sides.
Natthakan Chantham and Nannapat Koncharoenkai provide batting quality, while Thipatcha Putthawong and Suleeporn Laomi strengthen their bowling.
However, being grouped with India and Pakistan makes qualification difficult.
6. UAE Women
The hosts rank sixth. Playing in familiar conditions at the Dubai International Stadium could give them an advantage.
Esha Oza is an important batter, while Theertha Satish provides attacking ability at the top of the order.
Their biggest concern is batting depth against experienced international bowling attacks.
7. Hong Kong Women
Hong Kong are seventh in our Women’s Asia Cup 2026 team analysis. They have capable players such as Kary Chan, Natasha Miles and Mariko Hill and can make games competitive through disciplined fielding.
However, their lack of pace bowling variety and limited boundary hitting could make it difficult to challenge the leading sides.
8. Indonesia Women
Indonesia complete the rankings. They are an emerging team with strong energy and team spirit but face a major challenge against established sides.
Their first major tournament at this level will provide valuable experience, although facing Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be a steep test.
Overall, India remain the clear favorites, with Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh forming the next tier. Thailand could still emerge as the tournament’s surprise package.
