The USA women’s cricket team have named a 14-player squad for the Easter Women’s T20 Cup 2026 in Entebbe, scheduled from April 9 to 15, as they aim to regain momentum following a challenging run in recent international fixtures.

The tri-series tournament, featuring hosts Uganda and Uganda A, will be played at Entebbe Cricket Oval and provides an important opportunity for the USA side to prepare for upcoming ICC pathway events.

USA Women Squad for Easter T20 Cup 2026

    • Aditiba Chudasama
    • Ritu Priya Singh
    • Sainavi Kambalapalli
    • Gargi Bhogle
    • Nikhar Doshi
    • Isani Mahesh Vaghela
    • Pooja Ganesh
    • Jivana Aras
    • Maahi Madhavan
    • Lekha Shetty
    • Chetna Reddy Pagydyala
    • Taranum Chopra
    • Aparna Gurumurthy
    • Suhani Thadani

The squad maintains a familiar core, with captain Aditiba Chudasama leading the side alongside experienced all-rounders Ritu Singh and Gargi Bhogle. At the same time, several emerging players have been included as part of a broader transition phase.

    Recent Form and Squad Adjustments

USA’s latest outing came at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2026 in Nepal, where they faced stronger Full Member opposition. While results were mixed, the team had earlier impressed by topping the Americas Qualifier to secure their place at the global stage.

However, inconsistency has remained a concern. Bilateral defeats against Zimbabwe and a 5-0 T20I series loss in the Netherlands highlighted areas needing improvement, particularly in batting depth and bowling execution.

    Vaghela Included as Batter Only

A key talking point is the inclusion of Isani Vaghela, who will feature solely as a batter. The 20-year-old all-rounder was suspended from bowling in international cricket by the ICC earlier this year after being reported during a match against Ireland in the Global Qualifier in Nepal.

Following a review, her action was deemed illegal, and she remains ineligible to bowl until reassessed and cleared. Despite this, her inclusion reflects her value to the team’s batting unit, though her absence as a bowling option reduces USA’s depth in that department.

    Norris Misses Out

Tara Norris, who finished as the leading wicket-taker at the Global Qualifier with 15 wickets, has not been included in the squad. Her absence removes an experienced left-arm pace option and signals a shift towards experimentation.

The inclusion of younger players such as Maahi Madhavan, Aparna Gurumurthy, and Sainavi Kambalapalli highlights a focus on development, with several having been part of extended squads earlier in the year.

    Focus on Development and Balance

The Easter Women’s T20 Cup will be played in a condensed format across five days, placing emphasis on squad rotation and adaptability. Conditions in Entebbe are expected to test combinations, particularly in areas where USA have recently faced challenges.

As the tournament approaches, USA will look to balance development with competitiveness, using the series as a platform to shape the next phase of their progress in women’s international cricket.
