Trent Rockets Women registered a thrilling five-run victory over Sunrisers Leeds Women in Match 17 of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2026 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The win strengthened the Rockets’ hold on second place in the standings, while Sunrisers Leeds Women slipped to their third straight defeat despite a brilliant late fightback from Annabel Sutherland.

Fans looking for the Trent Rockets Women vs Sunrisers Leeds Women highlights, Trent Rockets Women result, and Sunrisers Leeds Women scorecard witnessed an exciting contest that went down to the final ball.

Dunkley leads Rockets with a match-winning fifty

After being asked to bat first, Trent Rockets Women lost an early wicket when Beth Mooney was dismissed for just four by Jess Jonassen. However, Sophia Dunkley and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt quickly rebuilt the innings with a superb partnership.

Dunkley was in outstanding form, scoring 56 from only 33 balls. Her innings featured seven fours and two sixes as she dominated the Sunrisers attack. Sciver-Brunt provided excellent support with 33 runs from 25 balls, adding three boundaries and a six.

The pair added a crucial 76-run stand for the second wicket, giving the Rockets a solid platform. Although the middle order lost wickets in the closing stages, useful contributions from Bess Heath and the lower order helped the home side reach 139/7 from 100 balls.

For Sunrisers Leeds Women, Jess Jonassen, Hannah Baker, and Annabel Sutherland claimed two wickets each to prevent the Rockets from posting an even bigger total.

Sunrisers struggle before Sutherland’s late charge

Sunrisers Leeds Women found it difficult to match the required scoring rate during the early part of the chase. Bryony Smith was dismissed for 10 before Jess Jonassen made 19 and Phoebe Litchfield added 24.

Lauren Winfield-Hill also contributed 16, but regular wickets meant the visitors were always chasing the game. Tight bowling from Ashleigh Gardner, Heather Graham, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Charley Phillips kept the pressure on throughout the innings.

At one stage, Sunrisers Leeds were well behind the required rate, needing a special effort in the closing stages.

Annabel Sutherland nearly pulls off the chase

Annabel Sutherland almost produced one of the best innings of the tournament. The all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 59 from just 30 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes to bring Sunrisers Leeds Women back into the contest.

Her powerful hitting reduced the equation significantly and kept the result uncertain until the very last ball. However, Kim Garth showed great composure in the death overs by mixing accurate yorkers with clever variations.

Although Sutherland finished with a six from the final delivery, Sunrisers Leeds Women could only reach 134/5, falling five runs short of the target.

Sophia Dunkley was named Player of the Match for her match-defining half-century.

    Sunrisers Leeds Women scorecard

Trent Rockets Women: 139/7 (100 balls)
