Trent Rockets Women produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Southern Brave Women by three wickets in Match 29 of The Hundred Women’s 2026 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Chasing 118, the Rockets recovered from 10 for 3 to reach 118 for 7 from 98 balls, sealing the win with two deliveries remaining.

Trent Rockets Women vs Southern Brave Women highlights feature dramatic momentum swings, with the hosts’ middle order rescuing the chase after a disastrous beginning.

    Brave Post Competitive Total

Trent Rockets won the toss and chose to field, putting Southern Brave under pressure during the early stages.

Maia Bouchier and Lizelle Lee gave Brave a solid platform with a 49 run opening partnership. Bouchier top scored with 38 from 33 balls, while Lee contributed 31 from 28 deliveries.

Laura Wolvaardt then added a steady 24, but Southern Brave struggled to accelerate during the latter stages. Georgia Adams played a major role in restricting the batting side, claiming two wickets for only 14 runs from her 20 balls.

Southern Brave lost four wickets for just seven runs late in their innings and eventually finished on 117 for 5 from their 100 balls.

    Rockets Collapse Early

The chase began disastrously for Trent Rockets. Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Luff were both dismissed for one run, while Beth Mooney managed only six. The Rockets were reduced to 10 for 3 within the first 25 balls.

Issy Wong and Tilly Corteen-Coleman bowled accurately and made life difficult for the Rockets’ top order. Corteen-Coleman finished with two wickets for 16 runs.

With the chase in serious trouble, Ashleigh Gardner stepped up.

    Gardner and Sciver-Brunt Lead Fightback

Gardner changed the momentum with an aggressive innings of 37 from 25 balls. She struck five fours and a six while building a crucial 53-run partnership with Bess Heath, who scored 18.

The partnership brought Trent Rockets back into contention and significantly reduced the required rate.

After Gardner was dismissed, Nat Sciver-Brunt took control of the chase. The all-rounder scored a vital 32 from just 19 balls, keeping her team within touching distance of the target.

However, the match remained tense until the final moments.

    Rockets Hold Their Nerve

Sciver-Brunt was run out from the first ball of the final set of five, leaving Trent Rockets needing just one run from three balls.

Georgia Elwiss and Kim Garth remained composed under pressure and managed to scramble the winning run from the 98th ball.

The Trent Rockets Women vs Southern Brave Women result was therefore a three-wicket victory for the Rockets, with two balls remaining.

Trent Rockets Women vs Southern Brave Women Scorecard

Trent Rockets Women vs Southern Brave Women scorecard showed just how close the contest was. Southern Brave finished on 117 for 5, with Bouchier’s 38 and Lee’s 31 leading the scoring.

    Trent Rockets responded with 118 for 7, led by Gardner’s 37 and Sciver-Brunt’s 32.

The Women’s Hundred match 29 highlights ultimately belonged to Trent Rockets’ middle order. After losing three wickets for only 10 runs, Gardner, Bess Heath and Sciver-Brunt combined to produce a remarkable recovery.

This victory also highlighted the unpredictable nature of The Hundred, where a modest target can become difficult to chase when wickets fall quickly. Southern Brave appeared to have control after the Rockets’ early collapse, but the hosts’ experienced batters kept their composure and completed one of the most dramatic chases of the tournament.
