    The Hundred Women’s 2026 32nd Match Review: Birmingham Phoenix vs MI London

    Birmingham Phoenix Women produced an excellent comeback to defeat MI London Women by five wickets in the 32nd match of The Hundred Women’s 2026 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on Wednesday, August 12. MI London posted 120/6 from their 100 balls before Phoenix chased down the target in 94 balls to finish on 121/5.

    Ellyse Perry was the star of the match and was named Player of the Match after an outstanding unbeaten 62 from 39 balls. Her powerful innings completely changed the game after Birmingham Phoenix had found themselves in serious trouble early in the chase.

    MI London Post 120 Runs

    MI London Women were asked to bat first and struggled to build a big total after losing Hayley Matthews early. Matthews scored 21 from 14 balls and gave the innings a quick start, but her dismissal put pressure on the middle order.

    Chinelle Henry then played an important innings for MI London. She top scored with 42 from 33 balls, hitting four fours and one six. Hollie Armitage provided useful support with 31 from 31 balls as MI London attempted to build a competitive total.

    The late overs did not produce the acceleration MI London needed, and they eventually finished on 120/6 from their 100 balls.

    Eva Gray was the pick of the Birmingham Phoenix bowlers. She produced a controlled spell and played an important role in restricting MI London to a manageable score.

    Phoenix Suffer Early Collapse

    Birmingham Phoenix needed 121 runs to win, but their chase immediately went off track. The home side lost wickets quickly and found themselves in serious trouble at 48/4.

    Kirstie Gordon and Tara Norris were particularly effective with the ball. Their early strikes put MI London in a strong position and left Phoenix needing a major partnership to rescue the innings.

    That partnership came through Ellyse Perry and Fatima Sana.

    Perry Leads Incredible Comeback

    Ellyse Perry took complete control of the chase and produced one of the finest innings of the match. She remained unbeaten on 62 from just 39 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes.

    Perry combined brilliantly with Fatima Sana, who scored 36 from 32 balls. The pair added a crucial 66-run partnership that completely shifted the momentum towards Birmingham Phoenix.

    Sana’s six boundaries provided valuable support while Perry continued attacking the MI London bowlers. Their partnership took Phoenix from a difficult position to within touching distance of victory.

    Phoenix eventually reached 121/5 after 94 balls, winning the match with six balls remaining.
