The 23rd match of The Hundred Women’s 2026 produced a thrilling London derby at Lord’s as MI London Women defeated London Spirit Women by three runs in a dramatic finish. MI London Women looked almost out of the contest after losing eight wickets for just 64 runs, but a brilliant unbeaten innings from Melie Kerr helped them post a defendable total.

MI London Women scored 122/9 from their 100 balls, while London Spirit Women finished their chase at 119/8. The three-run victory gave MI London Women their first win of the season and ended the contest in remarkable fashion.

London Spirit Women vs MI London Women Highlights

MI London Women endured a disastrous start. Their top order collapsed quickly, leaving them struggling at 23/5. The situation became even worse when they slipped to 64/8, with London Spirit Women appearing firmly in control.

Charlie Dean played a major role with the ball for London Spirit. She claimed three important wickets and helped keep the pressure on MI London throughout the innings.

However, Melie Kerr refused to give up. The New Zealand star produced one of the finest individual performances of the tournament, taking responsibility for the innings and finding valuable runs despite losing partners around her.

Kerr remained unbeaten on 69 from 41 balls, using a mixture of powerful shots and intelligent batting to keep MI London in the contest. Her remarkable innings helped the team reach 122/9 from their 100 balls.

Given the position MI London had been in earlier, reaching 122 looked like a major recovery.

London Spirit Women vs MI London Women Result

The London Spirit Women vs MI London Women result ended in a three-run victory for MI London Women.

London Spirit started their chase knowing that they needed 123 runs to win. They struggled to build consistent partnerships early but refused to give up.

Nadine de Klerk played an important role with 35 runs, while Marizanne Kapp added 34 to keep London’s hopes alive. Their contributions brought the home side within touching distance of the target.

However, MI London continued to fight and picked up important wickets at crucial moments. With London Spirit needing runs from the final delivery, the pressure reached its highest point.

London Spirit could only finish on 119/8, falling three runs short of victory.

    Key Moments From the Match

The biggest moment of the game was undoubtedly Melie Kerr’s unbeaten 69. Her innings completely changed the direction of the contest and gave MI London something to defend after their dramatic collapse.

Another key moment was London Spirit’s inability to finish the job after reducing MI London to 64/8. The home side had a huge opportunity to dismiss the remaining batters and restrict their rivals to a much lower score.

MI London’s bowlers then showed excellent composure during the chase. They kept taking wickets and prevented London Spirit from finding the final few runs required.

The victory was particularly important because it marked MI London Women’s first win of the 2026 campaign.

Overall, the match highlighted the unpredictable nature of The Hundred. MI London looked almost beaten at 64/8, but Kerr’s remarkable batting and a composed bowling effort turned the game around and secured a memorable three run victory at Lord’s.
