Sunrisers Leeds Women produced an impressive all-round performance to defeat Manchester Super Giants Women by 41 runs in Match 30 of The Hundred 2026. The match was played on August 11 at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, where Sunrisers Leeds posted 166/4 before restricting Manchester Super Giants to 125/8 from their 100 balls.

    Sunrisers Leeds Women Post 166/4

Manchester Super Giants Women won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sunrisers Leeds made excellent use of the conditions and put together a strong batting performance.

Phoebe Litchfield provided an explosive start, scoring 27 from just 12 balls. She struck five fours and one six at a strike rate of 225.00. Bryony Smith added 17 before Lauren Winfield Hill scored 20 to keep the innings moving.

Annabel Sutherland then took control of the innings. The Australian all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 62 from 36 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes. Her strike rate of 172.22 helped Sunrisers Leeds finish with a strong total of 166/4.

Danielle Gibson also made a valuable contribution with 24 from 13 balls. Kathryn Bryce was the most economical bowler for Manchester Super Giants, taking 1/14 from her 20 balls, while Mady Villiers claimed two wickets.

    Sutherland Produces All Round Masterclass

Annabel Sutherland was undoubtedly the star performer of the match. Her unbeaten 62 gave Sunrisers Leeds the platform they needed before she returned to make an impact with the ball.

Sutherland finished with bowling figures of 2/17 from her 20 balls. She also took two catches in the deep, completing an excellent all-round performance.

Her contribution was particularly important because Sunrisers Leeds needed to finish strongly after losing wickets during the middle part of the innings. Sutherland’s aggressive batting ensured they reached a competitive total.

Manchester Super Giants Make a Positive Start

Manchester Super Giants started their chase with confidence. Smriti Mandhana and Grace Scrivens gave their team a promising opening partnership before Sunrisers Leeds began to take control.

Mandhana scored 28 from 17 balls, hitting four fours and one six. Scrivens was even more consistent, scoring 31 from 24 balls with six fours.

However, the Manchester side struggled to maintain their scoring rate after losing their early wickets. Richa Ghosh scored 13, while Meg Lanning managed only 10 from 15 balls.

Jonassen Leads Sunrisers Leeds Bowling Attack

Jess Jonassen played a major role in stopping Manchester Super Giants’ chase. The experienced spinner finished with excellent figures of 3/21 from her 20 balls.

Jonassen removed key batters including Smriti Mandhana and Meg Lanning. Her spell prevented Manchester Super Giants from building another strong partnership during the middle stages of the chase.

Deepti Sharma also impressed with 2/21, while Sutherland claimed another two wickets. Together, the Sunrisers Leeds bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the second innings.

Manchester Super Giants Finish on 125/8

Manchester Super Giants eventually finished on 125/8 from their 100 balls, falling 41 runs short of the target.

Kathryn Bryce scored 15 before being retired out, while Maitlan Brown added 11. Mady Villiers was dismissed without scoring, and the lower order could not provide enough runs to change the outcome.

The Sunrisers Leeds bowling attack remained disciplined and ensured that Manchester Super Giants never threatened the target during the final stages.

Manchester Super Giants Women vs Sunrisers Leeds Women Highlights

Top Manchester Super Giants Women vs Sunrisers Leeds Women highlights are: Sutherland’s brilliant unbeaten 62 and Jonassen’s three-wicket spell.
