The Indian women’s cricket team is preparing for one of the biggest tournaments in its history as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 approaches in England. After winning their first ever ODI World Cup title at home in 2025, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her team now want to create history again by lifting the T20 World Cup trophy.

India’s ambitions for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England are very clear. The team wants to prove that the 2025 World Cup victory was not a one time success. Before the tournament starts on June 12, India will face England in a three match T20I series that could play a huge role in their preparation.

India women vs England series schedule

The India women vs England T20I series will help the team adjust to English weather and playing conditions before the World Cup begins.

The matches are scheduled as follows:

    May 28 at Chelmsford

    May 30 at Bristol

    June 2 at Taunton

India will also play an official warm up game against England on June 10 in Derby before starting their World Cup campaign.

After the T20 World Cup, the tour will end with a historic one off Test match at Lord’s on July 10.

Massive focus on Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma

Much of India’s hopes will depend on star batters Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma.

Smriti Mandhana stats show why she is considered one of the best players in women’s cricket today. The left handed opener was in outstanding form during India’s previous England tour in 2025. Her aggressive batting and ability to handle swing bowling make her extremely dangerous in English conditions.

Many fans often ask, “Who is India’s best female cricketer?” While India has produced several legends, Mandhana is currently among the biggest names in world cricket because of her consistency, leadership, and match winning performances.

Questions like “Who is the richest female cricketer?” and “Who is the crush of Smriti Mandhana?” also remain popular among fans online, showing her huge popularity beyond the cricket field.

What are the sports achievements of Smriti Mandhana? She has won ICC awards, captained India in major tournaments, and played a huge role in India’s ODI World Cup success in 2025.

Shafali Verma can give India explosive starts

Shafali Verma stats have also impressed cricket fans over the last few years. The young opener recently scored back to back half centuries against South Africa and looked in excellent touch before the England tour.

Her fearless batting style could be very important during the powerplay overs. If Shafali gives India quick starts, the middle order will get more freedom to attack.

Harmanpreet Kaur chasing T20 World Cup glory

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will lead India in a record fifth T20 World Cup. Even after winning the ODI World Cup in 2025, the T20 title remains unfinished business for the Indian captain.

India are placed in a difficult group alongside Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. The biggest group stage clash will take place against Australia at Lord’s on June 28.

With experienced stars, young talent, and confidence from their ODI World Cup triumph, the Women in Blue now have a golden chance to become champions once again in England.
